[Killietalk] September MAKA Meeting..........the place to be

The September meeting of the Metropolitan Area Killifish Association (MAKA)
will be held at the Meadowlands Environment Center, Lyndhurst NJ, on
Wednesday, September 26, 8PM.
This month is our annual Grand Auction. We expect to have a large selection
of desirable killies, plants, live food cultures, and killie related items
on hand and hopefully a few surprises as well. We suggest that everyone get
there early to register their fish so that the auction can proceed without
delay. Seller fee is again only $1 per item auctioned.
In addition, members signed up for the box trade with the Puget Sound group
should bring in their fish to Art Herzog who will coordinate the shipment.
Visitors (especially potential new members) are welcomed. Refreshments will

DIRECTIONS TO THE MEADOWLANDS ENVIRONMENT CENTER

Via Route 3 from NYC and the NJ Turnpike:
Take Route 3 West to Route 17 South (Lyndhurst Exit). Follow the ramp around
to the traffic light. (Quality Inn will be on your left) Make a left onto
Polito Ave. Continue on Polito for about 1/2 mile. At the STOP sign, make a
left onto Valley Brook Ave. Follow this road to the end (approx 1 1/2
miles). Cross the railroad tracks and keep to the left. The Environment
Center is the first building on the left after the tracks.

Via Route 3 from Garden State Parkway:
Take Route 3 East to the 2nd Route 17S Exit (the sign will read Route 17S
Lyndhurst-Service Road...At the end of the exit ramp, there will be a
traffic lightt and the Quality Inn will be directly across the street on
your left. Go straight through the intersection onto Polito Ave. Continue on
Polito about 1/2 mile to the end. At the STOP sign, make a left onto Valley
Brook Ave. Follow this road to the end (approx 1 1/2 miles) Cross the
railroad tracks (keep to the left) Meadowlands Environment Center is the
first building on the left after the tracks.
