[Killietalk] Chicago Killie Meetings
If you are within driving distance of Chicagoland and not going to the Minnesota show, you are cordially invited to the Chicago killie group's meeting this Saturday.
After 48 years of gathering on Fridays, the CKA meetings have been moved to the third Saturday of the odd numbered months. Often we will meet at the College of DuPage at 2 in the afternoon. The usual camaraderie, mini-auctions, killie talk and programs will be even better.
However for this Saturday, September 15th, we will gather at Bob Steinbeck's Aquatic Nursery about 1 PM and then head to the Elgin Community College for a quick meeting and mini-auction and then take a tour of the 4,000-gallon pond in the biology wing's hall and then the two-story greenhouse with its waterfall and sound of rushing water throughout.
Details can be found at http://www.aka.org/chika/
Also mark your calendar for Nov. 17th. Killies from the Michigan and WAKO shows should have been comfortably settled in by then. We are privileged to have Uland Thomas speaking on North American Killies at that regularly scheduled 2 PM meeting. He will have his original images of the killies and shots of collecting a number of native killifish - the two endangered Illinois Fundulus excepted of course.
If you are from Northern Illinois, Northwestern Indiana, Southern Wisconsin, Southwestern Michigan or where ever else one may wish to drive in from, we hope to meet you at one or both of those festivities.
Cordially,
The Chicago Killie Group
