Ed - I had that done and was back at work in a month. Everyone recovers. 
It's been a couple of years and I can't tell any difference. A friend of 
mine went in for shoulder replacement surgery yesterday. When he asked the 
surgeon about the procedure, he was told they threw away the old stuff, but 
he could save it if my friend wanted it for soup. - Bob G.
