Re: [Killietalk] Thiosulfate de-chloroamine
Hi john,
I understand that they use it and why they use it. What i found
funny was that they insisted they did not add chloramine to the water
but chlorine and ammonia gives you chloramines. Most municipalities
are adding the two together to make their chloramines rather than
adding chloramines directly. So when they say they do not add
chloramines, it does not mean you do not have them in your water.
Also, some water sources, especially those from surface water, can be
high in ammonia due to runoff from farms, etc. so you can still have
chloramines. It just means that some people need to take additional
steps to be careful.
