Re: [Killietalk] Thiosulfate de-chloroamine in city watyer

This discussion comes at an interesting time for me, did my water changes
today at the store, used a product for dechlor provided by TLC, I've used it
before with no problem, but TODAY, I put in the proper amount and start
refilling tanks, by the time I'd half finished the second tank, my tank of
danios was dying, all of a sudden the new unnamed tetras, glolight tetras,
and neons start doing the whirley twirley, I'm wondering WHAT in the heck is
going on, only thing I can figure is county water supply has extra
chloramines due to summer heat etc and crummy water, quick, grab the Amquel,
and start dosing all the tanks. By the time it's all over, I'd lost apx 6
tetras, and about as many danios, none of the fish in tanks treated with
Amquel first were affected. So, valuable lesson learned for me, I'll stick
to my Amquel<G> ANd yes, it's the old stuff, not the plus, any store can
order the original for you, it's not been discontinued by Kordon.
