Re: [Killietalk] Dirtless Grindals

Depressed? And worms gnats and maggots is an "upgrade" over heat stress ?
(not sarcasm, but sincerely chuckling as only a fellow hobbyist can)

Subject: [Killietalk] Dirtless Grindals

I added a new link to some pictures of my cultures of grindals on my Fish
page:

http://inkmkr.com/Fish/WithOutDirt/

All this talk about the heat and being at the will of the "others"
has me depressed. So, something lighter . . . .

This method has finely given me the opportunity to do in the fly
maggots which seem to find their way into the smallest openings. I
hate it when a bunch of gnats fly out of a culture box and everything
starts stinking. Well, I can wash these pads and replace the water
every other day with fresh and the cultures really produce.

Only big problem is the need to open an active culture every day to
remove the worms. Otherwise the thing crawls out into the bag and one
looses most of the center of the prime culture. Only feeding a few
kernels a day helps but the bags still need to be opened.
