[Killietalk] aphyosemion sex ratios
I have been breeding A. gabuense marginatum for about a year, and have
noticed a very skewed sex ratio. I have a growout tank with several dozen fry in
it. They all seem to be sexing out as males. Every time that I think I have
found a female, it turns into a male. These fish came from several
different hatches and hatching containers, so they were hatched out under different
conditions. They did all come from the same breeding pair. I have several
batches of small fry starting out now, unsexed, I hope some are females.
Fortunately the breeders are very prolific. Does anyone have any thoughts?
