[Killietalk] "Pond" critters

I put out a kiddie pool to get a coating of algae before putting in  
the fish (a pair of jordanella for a 4 foot pool).   By the time the  
algae was making a nice coat and it looked ready for some fish, there  
was quite a crop of skeeter larvae.  The fish went out yesterday, and  
as of right now, they are cowering and all but shivering, and not  
looking like they're going to chow down on the skeeters.

So:  how completely do I need to empty the pool, and how long would  
it need to dry out, to be pretty sure I'd killed all the skeeters,  
before refilling and starting over with the fish?  I don't want to  
bleach it out and kill the algae I"m trying to cultivate.
