Re: [Killietalk] Subject: This Question Comes From the General Discussion
Hi Joe!
I'm guessing that the number has been corrupted and should be DKG-1. It
would be easy to misread DKG1 as CKE1.
If this is the case, these were derived from two pairs of Rivulus
cylindraceus sent by two different DKG members to the 2003 West Coast
Weekend. The coloration of the fish was different from other Rivulus
cylindraceus and I was able to obtain both pairs. The fish proved easy to
breed and has been widely distributed.
By the way, there was another color variety from Germany available at the
show as well. I chose to focus on one type and don't know what happened to
the other one.
Since the fish I obtained appeared distinct from Rivulus cylindraceus, it
was recommended that we recognize this difference. We initially called the
fish Rivulus cylindraceus DKG1 and later, more technically correct, as
Rivulus species affinis cylindraceus DKG1.
While looking at some of the European websites, there is a Rivulus
cylindraceus "Cascade de Soares" that appears very similar to Rivulus
species affinis cylindraceus DKG1. I have not been able to confirm whether
or not these are the same location or even are identical. Again, the fish
sent to West Coast Weekend 2003 did not have a location code and were only
designated as Rivulus cylindraceus. Hope this helps.

Does anyone have any information about the collection code on Rivulus
cylindraceus CKE1? Thanks.
