Re: [Killietalk] Garage Fish "room"

They make thermometers that will record max and min temperatures. Aquatic
Ecosystems has one for less than $20:

Subject: [Killietalk] Garage Fish "room"

We are settling into our new home and so it is time to
figure out where I can set up a fish "room."

Since we are on on a bluff overlooking the San
Francisco Bay (East Bay hills), the climate is fairly
cool and moderate and there is often a breeze off the
water, but it does occasionally warm up in the
afternoon and early evening.

Since we are a single story house, there is no root
cellar / stand-up crawl-space nor basement.

I am thinking that an interior wall of the garage
would work. I am concerned, however, about how much
the space might heat-up while we are at work ("peak
temperature") and how to measure that inexpensively.
Currently, our walls are not insulated and so that
future home improvement project must also be
considered.
-- Additionally, our garage has 2 interior walls
that have a number (2-3 each) of GFCI outlets. Of
course, the one with the plumping and deep sink has
the lesser number of outlets.
-- I am wondering whether we ought to add an "inline
fan" (1500 CFM or so) above the tanks. Possibly with
a temp and/or timer switch.

What else ought we consider?

What is the common sense / wisdom / experience of the
group about garage fish "rooms"?
