[Killietalk] Lucania goodie

Lucania goodie....

I had always skipped this fish. I'm not even sure why.

Lee made me change my mind, calling it a "great little fish". I've learned to trust Lee's judgement (so should everyone else), because so far he's been right about everything..... except about Rivs being "hard" (Rivs are easier than guppies for me.... it is Aphys I have trouble with).

Thanks Lee. I've re-thought it and I think I will buy the "great little fish" : ) They just seem funny and cute.... hitchhiking in on plants and stuff. After all, it's the cute killifish faces I fell in love with, not the fancy fins : )

Hey Yall,

Due to non-descriptive uses on the packaging. Could someone advise me of
the proper use of freeze dried cyclop-eeze?

The wafers are no problem as the killies are taking them quite nicely thus
far. The powderized FD is another thing. Thus far it just sit at the
surface and does not budge, collecting at the miniscus of the tank water.
Would love to get it water born or sinking without de-valuing its nutrition.

Thanks and God Bless, Lee Van hyfte <><

Put a small pinch in a pill bottle full of water and shake like hell, feed
with an eye dropper or BOT baster.

Lee, try the frozen. I like it because it immediately suspends in the water
column and because it's neutrally buoyant seems to float around the tank,
directly in front of the fishes little mouths for hours. They all love it,
fry and adults both.

Lee,
I agree w/ Ed. I have tried both the freeze dried and the frozen. I find the
frozen much easier to deal with and feed to my fish. The fish also seem to
like it much more. It is a little pricey but, a little goes a long way. The
only place I find it locally is at a saltwater shop. the other option is to
mail order it.

Lee, I mix it up with my BBS and then use a baster to mix it up
repeatedly then inject it with force into the tank. Joe

To: bot at aka_org, KillieTalk at aka_org

Hello All,

I would like to briefly submit this information to the BOT and Killietalk.
It has been posted in my general society new letter that a senate bill
regulating the trade and importation of species is in committee at the
present time. Presented by the senate committee on Environment and public
Works.

house and senate bill # S.725

This bill is entitled the national aquatic invasive species act of 2007.
This bill tried and failed in 2003. WE CANNOT as a society let this bill go
through.

Any species that is not of commercial interest and not already in trade
could be banned from the USA. Any importations of new species or species
not already qualified would require US certification and permission. in
other words BIG BUCKS and a lot of red tape.

FAAS is already investigating its potential impact. We should follow this
closely. Killies as you know are not generally considered of commercial
interest. THIS bill may in theory destroy ALL foreign trade and limit
species available to even be kept legally in the USA.

Monty, Our FAAS representative needs to contact FAAS directly and in a
hurry.

God Bless, Lee Van hyfte <><
