Hey Yall,

Anyone got any ideas as to what these things eat?

What they don't eat for me.  Black worms, bbs, FBS, daphnia, FBW

So far I can only get them to take Mosquito larvae.   This tends to be 
rather problematic most of the year. Does anyone know if this is typical for 
the species or am I just dealing with spoiled rotten fish?

Any suggestions as to breeding I would love to listen!  I picked up the pair 
at the AKA national for $10 a steal at 10X's the price for a critically 
endangered species.   NO ONE ELSE EVEN BID ON THEM.

Currently have them in:
Hard water 550ppm.
(1/2tsp NaCl and 1/4tsp MgSO4)/ gal.
70-72F
14 hours of daylight
Some java moss and Najas.
A floating and bottom mop.

I know they require a cold winter and short photoperiod in winter.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Would just love to get them 
going well and distribute them all over the place.
