Interesting weekend - I was walking past the horses' water trough, and  
spotted a few mosquito larvae. Hasn't been that warm here, so I hadn't checked  
yet. Thought I'd do so when I brought "the kids" in. Lo and behold: I gather  
mosquito larvae into a Cool Whip container (net them out of the trough), and I  
had so many I couldn't see the bottom of the Cool Whip container!!! I even had  
enough to feed the guppies after the killies and bettas ate! For those who 
say I  am increasing mosquito populations, I fed so many that I ran out of 
larvae by  the end of last year - the fishies were on prepared food a couple days a 
week  :(
Also went recycling: We had monthly clean up day yesterday, I went today  and 
found a 20 gallon tank and a 10 gallon tank with a hood :) No broken glass,  
but some VERY UGLY gravel and fluorescent fake rocks. :(  Left both outside  
till it rains to see if they hold water. Price was right even if they need  
resealing, and the hood has good bulbs!!!    Carolyn
