Re: [Killietalk] Electronic BNL
Just to clarify the eBNL vs the Paper BNL problem this month. Hopefully
this will never have a reason to occur again.
The plan for the BNL is to be delivered to the printer on the first day of
each month. The BNL will be printed within 3 days, generally 1-2 days, then
taken to the mail house where it will be in the mail system by the 5th of
the month. The intent is for the eBNL to be released at the same time as the
BNL hits the post office. Once in the hands of the postal service - the
time it takes to get to the membership is out of our control. Hopefully for
the next 10 years or so, this joint BNL/eBNL venture will work properly on a
regular basis. Our intent is simply to make certain both paper and eBNL are
in the hands of the majority of the membership within a day or two of each
other. It may take a couple months to get the process balanced, but
hopefully the delivery will become something you can expect the first week
of every month.
Unfortunately, this month, there was an electronic glitch and somehow the
BNL sent via email to the print shop did not arrive as it should have. I
take fully responsibility for the delay - In late April, my wife and I
bought a new house and May 1st was the moving date. For various reasons, it
took us several days to accomplish the move, (in fact I am still moving the
fish room) but during that time, from May 1st-4th, I was without my Internet
access for the most part (which includes my phone and cable TV) due to some
minor problems with Time Warner. Those resolved Friday afternoon, but I was
unable to contact the printer until this week and I was unaware that there
was a problem. My fault - my responsibility. The BNL is now in the hands
of the printer and should be mailed within a day or so.
I apologize for any delays or concerns this has caused - it is the first
month working with the new printer and mail house and we are working hard to
resolve and correct any future problems.
