As Joe points out, you can sign up for the subscription service, via
which Paypal will automatically charge you when due. I can also point
out that the membership chairman, Lonny Langione, sends out email
reminders to those who are about to lapse. Furthermore, I hope, in the
near future, to implement a module on the web site that will allow new
members to be immediately assigned to the AKA Members group, giving them
full member privileges on the site. It is also supposed to automatically
send reminders when a membership is due. I have to do some more testing
before I implement it, though. I wouldn't want to do it then find it is
messing up somehow.
For now, the best solution is to use the subscription option.
