[Killietalk] Electronic BNL, Thanks and a Rant

Just received my first electronic BNL this afternoon. Congratulations on
a job well done! I really like the electronic style because it gives me
the best of both worlds. I can fly through the whole document on line
and then print out the pages I want. It's simple and easy to archive if
I want via downloading to my hard drive and copying to a cd if I want
to. Again thanks!

Now to my rant. Monty Lehman is his Chairman's message announced the
resignation and gave a rousing thank you to Dick Martino for all of his
contributions to the AKA. I couldn't agree more. He has done a fantastic
job for a long time.

He then announced the resignation of Clay Crawford and.......didn't even
bother to say "thank you for your service". I couldn't believe it. Even
if he hated him, the chairman of the BOT should have said thank you to
any member who served the AKA and then resigned. To me, it's common
courtesy. The lack of leadership astounds me. We are always hounding
people to vote, volunteer and support the AKA but the Chairman doesn't
even thank a long time member and supporter of the AKA. To me, it's just
plain ignorant.

I know some of you don't like negative remarks to be posted to this list
by members but If I had not known Clay Crawford for a long time I might
not have noticed the Chairman's fau pas. I don't know of any other place
to post this that might have any impact.

I have served along side of Clay Crawford in another organization for
many years and hold him in the highest regard. He has been the show
chair (Boss ) in another club for about 10 years and has done astounding
work. Each time we have had an event, he has analyzed everything and has
come up with ways we could do ti better next time.

He has served in the AKA for many years and to be ignored like that is
inexcusable.

If this is how the Chairman is going to address the volunteers that
would do the work, we are in real trouble.

Scotty
