I don't remember where I read this, but someone said keeping Rivs in no more
than 3inches (7cm) of water may help.

Dave Baker in the UK was breeding them in 2003 .His comments are temp
20-23 cent and neutral water noted that the eggs seemed to be light
sensitive
May be worth a e-mail for any more first hand info.
