Re: [Killietalk] West Coast Weekend

Well Allan, it shouldn't surprise me that you or someone on this
list would start off an email with, what I certainly sensed as a
"defensive" remark. On several occasions I've seen new-comers make
a statement, then get blasted to kingdom come, thanks! I can
certainly see why I've heard AKA'ers are are sometimes viewed as
elitists.
This is to answer PATRICK's question, since it was one, and not
a comment to "others" on the list!
I had heard that the Portland group hosting the 09' Convention
was being discussed at the WCW. And if in fact that does happen, not
being able to attend this years being closer, dosen't bode well for
anything farther. My (sense of humor was), it might as well be Alaska.
I thought the whole thing fairly innocent, EXCUSE ME !!
PLEASE DON'T REPLY - I'LL LET MYSELF OUT SO SOMEONE ELSE CAN
GET THEIR HEAD SHOT AT ...

I'm not sure what Sonny meant about Portland, but I had a blast at
West Coast Weekend. There were terrific speakers, tons of fish (366
entries for the show, silent auction, and Sunday main auction -
according to one count) and wonderful companionship (a special thanks
to whoever picked up the beer tab for 30+ people Friday night!).
Bring on Portland for an AKA Convention!

Subject: Re: [Killietalk] Convention Hotel
Guess the Early Bird saying does apply eh? To far and getting to
expensive for me, I was hoping to attend as first timer. And from
what came out of Portland, it doesn't sound like I'll be going next
year if it lands ther. From Florida, I think the only place farther
would be Alaska, anyone heard of a convention in Alaska ??
  Killie-cicles anyone !

Allan.
I'm pretty sure it was one of those rarely seen Northwest Killies
Leprechauns. They were fleetingly seen at times lurking suspiciously
around the corners and under the fish stands, throughout the event.
It seems their sole function was to keep the spirits of the
attendee's high, they may have succeeded, I have heard nothing
except positive responses from the many who participated in the
event.!
Patrick (the chauffeur)

P.S. Sonny, what did you mean about Portland?
