Re: [Killietalk] West Coast Weekend

I would also like to echo what others have said about the WCW show. It was
one of the most enjoyable shows I have attended, run in the usual friendly
atmosphere that I have come to associate with the event. It is my
understanding that there were 71 "live" registrations, but many were family
registrations for 2 or 3 people so between 80 and 90 people attended over
the 3 days. As Allan has mentioned, there were 366 entries registered for
the combined show, silent auction and main auction. The quality of the fish
was generally very high and included such rare gems as Pronothobranchius
kiyawensis. There were probably a hundred or more items for the raffle.

The main speaker was John Rosenstock from Denmark who gave an interesting
and entertaining presentation on his 30 years of collecting killies in
Africa. I have known John for many years and have been collecting with him
in Africa. It was, therefore, great to meet with him again. My wife and I
had the great privilege and pleasure to have John and his wife visit with us
in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island for a few days after the show.

My thanks and congratulations to all those who made this an event to
remember.
