Nah, not freaky. I usually get this urge coincidental with hosting a 
club meeting or having company that wants to see the fishroom. I 
generally wait 'til the "mulm' gets about a half inch deep or so. What I 
siphon off for water changes doesn't always clean that up, but I also 
depend on that crud as a source of small critters for fry-food in my 
natural setups. The mop tanks get more attention.
