[Killietalk] Regional shows

Barry is correct. It is unfair to attribute the shrinking of the National
Convention shows attendance simply to the proliferation of big regional
shows. It may be coincidental. One must be careful when determining cause
and effect of many things. Many factors are at work as changes in
membership, the availability of killies from many many sources other than
the AKA or even the national economay at the moment to name a few. Yes, it
is probably the cumulative effect of many things.

The timing of regional shows is something that is arbitrary and they could
be spaced to avoid competition with the National Convention so that
attracted my attention. Most killifish keepers do not breed hundreds of fish
as our fish space is limited. Therefore, the number of good fish to be
spared for shows has to be rationed. By the way, I wish you well with the
West Coast Weekend. It has certainly thrived and blossomed in the last few
years. Enjoy a good show, Barry
