The "when" depends on everything from weather (for shipping) to 
work/vacation schedules. We always shot for the third weekend in April, 
when BAKA was holding WCW. That kept it away from convention and on the 
raggedy edge of safe shipping. Easter often required adjustment, and I 
think our experience was that shipping losses made moving it earlier 
impractical.

My preference would be for a summer convention so more families could 
participate. I sort of like the lower air and hotel rates for 
non-holiday weekends, but maybe that is a minor part of the costs, 
anyway. In particular, I enjoy the kids when they can make it. We old 
pot-bellied bald guys can be highly entertaining, but the enthusiasm of 
the younger generation is even better, IMHO.
