Re: [Killietalk] Summer convention issues

Karl;
      You put 2 big issues on the table and you're right on. We talk
about attracting potential AKAers but we hold the convention on a
date that for a lot of families is impractical because of school,
room rates higher, and fares higher, etc. And we don't change
because of TRADITION. Methinks we are like a lot of organizations
where the base membership is growing older and change has become
anathema. Tradition does not always mean stability as witness the
membership decline we are currently experiencing and just might be
the real reason for declining participation in the Annual doings. As
Karl stated; LOYALTY and, I might add, HONESTY is what is needed.
