Re: [Killietalk] regional vs national shows.

Not to worry Karl, my school has finals on the 23rd (my birthday, ugh) and the 24th...then graduating on the 27th. But you can bet that I'll be there on the 25th and 26th! For some strange reason our school corp decided to move school up 2 1/2 weeks or something like that, so we get out before memorial day. Well, with snow days, underclassmen aren't getting out until the tuesday after it, but seniors get out just in time for the AKA convention (I'm sure they planned it that way...). But if we had been on our old schedule, I'm not sure if I would have made it. My ride is going up on friday morning, so I would have had to find another way up. I guess I'm lucky with my situation, but there are other's who likely aren't and can't get off. Either way, I'm don't think the life-blood of the AKA is kids. I still say that the best place to recruit members is at general clubs...but that's my opinion...after 4 years of high school trying (and failing) to get one student to
 recognize what a killifish is.

It would be Easier to have the AKA move there convention to the middle or
end of June then even some of the youngsters that we need in the hobby will
be out of school for the summer& that way the shows clubs ( the roots of the
AKA ) can spread out there shows & then more might attend the convention
