Re: [Killietalk] shipping fish
Bob,
I prefer to ship fish without using tranquilizers. The only situation in which I think they're beneficial is with larger piranhas. I'd recommend not feeding the fish for a minimum of 24 hrs prior to packing them. Make sure that you have sufficient air in the bag. I'd recommend at least 2/3 air to 1/3 water. I always add a piece of Poly Filter to the bag to help maintain the water quality. Poly Filter essentially does everything that a really good carbon does and more. It will adsorb ammonia, so it significantly improves the water chemistry in the bag. HTH.

Hello All,
Anyone have experience in shipping fish using tranquilizers ? In
particular I refer to (perhaps) dozens of fry within the same bag via
the mails.
Any advise/experiences would be helpful.
