[Killietalk] a challenge to affiliates

Yesterdays Colorado Killie Club meeting was a good one. We had a larger than
average turnout (16 people) and the best part was that in 3 hours we only
spent about 10 minutes talking about club business. The rest of the time was
spent actually talking about FISH.

Roger Langton showed up. It was great to see him again, and when Roger shows
up the conversation always turns a bit more serious and towards the topic of
conservation. As I expect you know, Roger founded the George Maier Fund back
in 2003.

CKC, inspired by Roger's presence, decided on the spur of the moment, to
donate the proceeds of our monthly mini-auction, to the George Maier Fund.
Yes, we're a small club, but we brought in $163 (from 15 items) yesterday
and it will all be sent to the AKA treasurer to be added to the GMF.

This will take the GMF total over the $10,000 mark!!!!!!

CKC challenges any and all affiliate clubs to spend some time discussing
killifish research and conservation at your next meeting and to top our
donation. 

Donations can be submitted via the AKA website or sent as checks made out to
AKA George Maier Fund to
