To have tank water with a TDS of less than 10 ppm and not change it
constantly like in a stream would probably result in some pretty dramatic pH
swings and chemistry problems. Food , fish waste being removed only with
weekly not instantaneous water changes as in the wild might not be too good.
A little buffer resulting in higher TDS is usually quite desirable.
