Re: [Killietalk] killie Karnival
Hi all,
Well, this year's killie karnival was not exactly a spectacular show, but I think it went all right. We had a disappointing 109 entries (this probably includes stud males too). Fortunately, the quality of the fish in several classes was impressive (some classes, not so much). The auction was small, but the prices stayed at a higher-than-usual level all the way until the end. The New and Rare fish we brought in went out to a fair number of people and were fantastic fish.
The show was very small, but the fish were great and the people were fantastic. It was great to see some of the out-of-towners like Curt Smith and Bill Shene, Scott Davis, Paul Christ, Charles and Sue Harrison, Mike Cooper, Karl Doering, Gordy Zahn, Keith Cook, Erny May, Gerhard Kallus, Fred Kraus, Kevin Shepard (new killie keeper!), Nick Vanikotis, Dick Martino, John Metzger, and the two craziest nuts around, Captain Morgan (Don) and Kingfish Lucas. Not to mention all of our (somewhat) more local people, Jim Graham, Duane Wake, Dave Hemmerlein, Bill Dyer, and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. Our local club had a pretty good turnout too (being a general club, only a percentage of our members come to the killie show), with several first-time killie karnival attendees. I think everyone went home with some new fish. It was really a great time for everyone.
Hope to see you all next year (if I can get away from college to make it myself!)
Gary
P.S. Special thanks to Doug Ebeling, Marty Fischer, and Gary Greenwood for the mail-in fish. Some absolutely superb fish in those boxes!

I am sorry to say I missed the Indana show this year. I have always enjoyed going to this show since it is not to far for me normally, however with all of the forcasted icey conditions I weenied out. I apologize for that. I hope enough people made the trip to the show so it was a successful show. I know it takes a lot of work to do one of these shows.
