Up here in Northern NY we send all our snow of to Tundra Johnnie's in
Tupper Lake and let him dig out.

What is deadly is the 20 below 0 temps ... I try real hard not to leave
the house between Jan and March.  

I have used snow for 'rain' water substitute since it seems to come from
the same places - I know Ted Klotz used to have barrels of snow melting
in his basement a few years ago to use in his fishroom.  I do avoid the
yellow, blue and orange snow that falls occasionally.
