Re: [Killietalk] Tank Heating
I live just a little south of you in Terre Haute, IN. My fish room is about
8X12 and I use a Honeywell oil filled radiator type heater. I couldn't find
the model number on mine but it sold for about $60. It has the digital
temperature on it.
My fish room is unheated by the rest of the house and has two windows in it.
I set the thermostat at 80 but with the cold weather we are having it stays
at 70 at the level of the heater and the upper tanks in the room are staying
close to 80. In my opinion it does a very good job.
If you were to use heaters in your tanks you would need about 12. Total
wattage of somewhere round 800 watts total. The heater is a 1500 watt heater
but should work out well in the room.
Hope this helps
