[Killietalk] Convention, fly control
Hi ? I never disagree with Dr. Cooper; absolutely never, let us just say
that I don?t quite go along with everything he says. First, I?m against
putting mothballs in with the white worm culture. I think the potential
hazards are just too great to deal with. What I do is take a 1 or 2 inch
piece of ?no pest strip? and put on top of a piece of glass on top of the
culture. These are those yellow things that you hang to get rid of flies. I
usually leave it there for a couple of days. Gets rid of the little flies
and will knock down the mite population if you have that problem too. It
doesn?t completely eliminate the mite population, but will cut it down.
Second, I had all kinds of problems in my attempt to register for the
convention on line last night. I?d fill everything out using one of my
credit cards (tried two, Master charge and Visa) and neither appeared to
work. If I wind up getting charged by both cards, I?ll go after Jim Gasior
when I get to Milwaukee. I thought that I would wait a few days and try
again.
Today is Ground Hogs day (or Candlemass, if you prefer) and the sky has
been overcast all day. According to both legends that means that winter is
over. However, having worked with ground hogs a fair amount, I?m not too
sure I really want to put much faith in a little rodent that is scared of it
?s own shadow.
Regards, Dan Nielsen
