That could be the problem, but if you are finding occasional eggs which are 
OK, I suspect predation. It could be either by the fish or by microscopic worms 
or other critters. I solved that problem with Diapterons by collecting eggs 
more often and storing them in chlorine containing tap water for the first few 
days.
