Re: [Killietalk] new killie?

HELLO ALL,

This is the same fish that went up to $160/10fish last year but did not meet
the sellers Reserve price. However it is NOT THE SAME SELLER!! This time
it will sell as it has no reserve and was started at $1. The shipping is
always expensive from this seller. You might get a fair price on the fish
but he makes up for it by stinging you with shipping.

These are also the exact same pictures used last year. I compared it to
the one I saved to disk last year.

Are there any livebearing fish in Africa? Asia YEP. But I have never
heard of any fish from Africa????

IMHO it is nothing more than a typical lampeye. Allied closely to
Aplocheilichthys. For that matter pumilus carries a nice big fat belly as
well. MALE AND FEMALE!!

On the Pseudo-gonopodium thingy majiger. Internal fertilization also
occurs in Epiplatys spilagyreus and Bifasciatus in Sudan as I recall.
Wildekamp discuses this in KOW Does anyone know if they carry a modified
anal fin or pelvic fins? Female specimens of both species in the extremes
of their range have been found with developing eggs internally.

Makes a lot of sense. A laid egg cannot thermoregulate. However, a carried
egg can easily move around with the mother and keep the eggs from being
COOKED in the hot, near desert sun.

I found that to be one of the most interesting things in the Wildekamp
books!! Did you miss that little remark?

I guess we have egg laying goodieds: Crenichthys why not a nearly live
bearing killie???

God Bless, Lee "the Rivnut" Van hyfte <><
