Re: [Killietalk] Shows and new members

This particular location would be at a nature center which has two
advantages over other locations. 1. The walk ins are already on location
and don't have to drive to/pull into somewhere they weren't already going
and 2. Being in a nature center, visitors would potentially be predisposed
to being intrigued by killies.

We hit the local general clubs pretty well being that the two local club
presidents are in the killie club, too. Killies are offered at my LFS,
courtesy of me, in an effort to create awareness of these fish. So, I guess
we are playing the other avenues as well.

Do you have a local general fish club? Are there any LFS 's that would
accept a flier? For drive-by's it may not be all that attractive but for
local people already into other kinds of fish it just might work out.. Our
general fish club did try a new location with a lot of drive by traffic and
the notice was up on the fire hall outside lighted sign for a full week
prior to the auction We did get some drop in traffic, but only half a
dozen people. This club is a relatively large one with about 100 members
typically. The road was a major route into Pittsburgh and has heavy
traffic. The biggest draw might be thru shops and the location an easily
found, well known location.
