Re: [Killietalk] Pump for recirculation system
Hi Earl;
To regulate my RO water supply hardness, I have a nice little RO in line
meter. It plugs into a plastic T. I do question its absolute accuracy
(Maybe +/ - 10 or 15 ppm. ) but as we say "close enough for government
work."
This might be useful in your setup. You could use a similar setup for
adding saline instead of RO waste water if you wanted. Might give you
enough head with just putting your saline supply tank high in the room.
Then use the meter and a valve to set the output where you want it.
Equipment:
3 plastic T's, one plastic valve, one RO in-line meter. Total cost about
$50.
There are 3 T's and a valve. . One T splits the RO drain water in to two
outlets. The first outlet goes to drain as before. The second goes through
an adjustable plastic valve and then to the second T where the Drain water
joins the RO water outlet. The outlet then goes thru the T that contains the
meter probe and output water goes to the storage containers.. I adjust the
valve until I see the RO meter read about what I want. This gives me much
faster usable water supply (For me 50/50 gives me 100 PPM TDS in my RO
storage.) I usually adjust for about 80 ppm TDS for most of my tanks. If
I want higher purity, I just reset the valve as needed. My water is not all
that bad (about 200 PPM TDS with no chloramines, iron etc).
