Just put your container out side and let it fill with rain water, then add  
the daph's.  If you live in DE, just let the seasonal rains add to  it.   I run 
a setup like this all summer, in a 20 gal tote bucket--the  kind with rope 
handles that are always on sale dirt cheap.  It sits on my  patio in partial 
sun.  the junk that falls off of the trees is the only  thing that gets added to 
it.
