Amquel and other dechlorinators that are based on formaldehyde derivatives
are deadly for daphnia. I use an activated carbon filter or sodium thiosulfate
to remove chlorine and chloramine. Where did you find a test kit that is able
to measure 0.1-0.5 ppm? My water has about 10 times that amount and it is
detectable only at 1.0 ppm. The water company claims about 2 ppm. Are you sure of
the decimal point?
