I use spade bits on acrylic the type that has one long point in the middle 
and one short point or tooth on each side. use a variable speed drill and 
when half way through drill from the other side. If you make the teeth 
longer with a file or grinder that will also help. On small hole up to 1/2 
inch in size use a regular bit the you have changed the angel to 60 degrees 
on the point and make sure that you keep the same sharpness ANGEL. slow 
speed and low pressure on the drill also helps. Practice on some scrap 
first. I have forester bits that are not worth a #$256^% FOR DRILLING 
PLASTIC THAT ARE BRAND NEW.
