Actually the linear pump would be much better, as the dual piston pump would 
only provide enough air for those 18 tanks, but since all my tanks were not 
in one room it worked out.  If I was setting up a fish room, a linear pump 
with manifolds would be my first choice.

Although electricity is currently .136/kwh it gows up in the summer so if 
you take that into account with the smaller pumps that would be replaced, it 
would pay for itself much quicker.  At one time I had 2 piston (one dual and 
one single) and 6 large vibrator pumps going at one time that could all 
probably be replaced by that one linear pump.
