Re: [Killietalk] Planeria (Flat worms)
Must be sumthin in the food chain keeping them around...seems those yellow teardroped thingies (flatworms?), the cross-eyed arrow head things (planaria?), and the assorted glass crawlers never seem to really last long-term in a closed system, not with fish/fry present anyways; heck I keep a critter keeper going just for that purpose...(although I have found terrestrial earthworms alive and kickin in the gravel bed months after feeding..go figure)...
Anyways, if the critters are aestetically unpleasing, I'd almost swear giant golden ramshorns (Carrisa?) either eat them directly or disturb/remove whatever habitat "flatworms" or whatever they are, need....(problem is they also love softer aquatic plants)

Subject: [Killietalk] Planeria (Flat worms)
Hi all, I was just looking through my oldest tropical fish book; "Exotic
Aquarium Fish" by William T. Innes and was wondering if there is any truth to
the fact that he wrote both guppies and dwarf gouramis will eat planeria (flat
worms). If so, why can't I use some guppies in my killi tanks that have them
to eat them up rather than using harsh chemicals that stress the fish.
Thanks. Ed Brandt
