[Killietalk] Planeria (Flat worms)

Hi all, I was just looking through my oldest tropical fish book; "Exotic  
Aquarium Fish" by William T. Innes and was wondering if there is any truth to  
the fact that he wrote both guppies and dwarf gouramis will eat planeria (flat  
worms).  If so, why can't I use some guppies in my killi tanks that have  them 
 to eat them up rather than using harsh chemicals that stress the  fish.
