Hi everyone,

I sent this out a few days ago but, with the list being down, it never 
arrived. here it is again:

It is my pleasure to be able to announce a new service for AKA members 
on the web site, namely the ability to download the current roster of 
members. The membership of the AKA changes on an almost daily basis due 
to new members joining, etc. This service will allow you to get the 
roster as it stands on any particular day. Note that this service is 
available only to AKA members.

To download the roster, log on to the site as a member, choose The 
People in the left panel, then Download Roster. A dialog box will 
appear, allowing you to save the file to your local machine. This file 
is a CSV file that can be opened or imported into Excel or other 
spreadsheet programs, or into a database program like Access. From Excel 
you can save and/or print the file in PDF format, although you may have 
to do some formatting as the number of columns is difficult to fit on a 
page. Landscape mode may work best. You could even upload the file into 
your PDA, if you use one. By default the roster is sorted by last name, 
but you can re-sort it once you have imported it.

I want to thank Dennis Heltzel for his programming help to make this 
possible. Without him, I would not be able to provide this, and many of 
the other services on the site. We hope that this will be a useful 
service to members. It overcomes the difficulties associated with paper 
rosters being outdated more or less before they appear in print.
