Re: [Killietalk] java moss

I've found it does well in almost any lighting conditions, from just-enough-to-see-it to bright more-than-I-should-really-be-using CF. However, a change in the lighting seems to cause it some trouble; I'll usually see a slight die-off if the light gets significantly brighter or darker.

This is brought to an extreme with a moss we have where I work (which I've long assumed to simply be a different clone of Java moss, but I now suspect may be Taiwan moss). If I bring some of that home, even in the system water from the lab, most of the newer growth dies and it is weeks before I start seeing growth. I find this variety of moss to be much less tolerant of low light, as well.
