Quite possibly the description "Dirt Spawners"
could be a better term to refer to these
"annuals".
I tend to think of Occidentals as a dirt spawner
along with nigripinnis, whitei, etc., the Nothos
and most of the Fundulopanchax as well. This
broadens out the description and yet gives the
Killie keeper some idea what to do to get
offspring. A lot of incubation time lists set
these fishes up the same way.
Problems occur when a new fish appears and there is no information.
