Re: [Killietalk] R.O.

Hi Fred

One deadly change water undergoes as it's heated is that it becomes
supersaturated with gases. As cold air holds more water, cold water holds
more air.

Levels above 105% of saturation can cause damage to gills. It's like the
bends but for fish.

Our guts are much more resilient than a fish gill. There are a million
things we can eat but not inhale.

Best fishes
David

Hi Lee, Why wouldn't you use some of the water in the "heated and insulated
tank of water". Unless chlorinated cold water(the feed to a hot water
heater) undergoes a deadly chemical change when heated; I can't see the harm
of using the hot water from a hot water heater. Remember we as humans drink
both of these waters. I always assumed the water from a hot water heater
became de chlorinated and pasteurized in the process of
heating. My assumptions are hardly ever "right on", however. Sincerely,
Fred
