I didnt want to go that far but my electric is really cheap.... less
than $.05 a kilowatt hour if my memory is correct.   Helps that our
village owns its own Municipal electric company and keeps the costs way
down for residents.   

With the electric this inexpensive, it helps me to heat the whole
apartment rather then run individual heaters in all my tanks.... with
thermostats in each room i can keep the different rooms i keep fish in
at different temps all winter long if i wish.   My second bedroom with
acts a fish room of sorts i keep warmer for my cichlids then i do the
where i keep my killies.   That room stays at 74F all winter long.
Ambiant room temperature keeps the tanks warm.   Been doing things this
way for a long time.  Bottom row near floor stays cooler and thats where
i keep my cooler water fish.  

Tundra Johnny is coming... Snow is predicted here for Saturday and
Sunday this coming weekend here in the Adirondacks!!
