According to my HVAC guy, the fan draws significantly less power than 
the dehumidifier and probably wouldn't handle the load of the moisture 
coming off 130 tanks, even if they are covered, which mine are. I have a 
dehumidifier in the storage area across the basement from the fishroom 
and it runs fairly often. It's drained to the sump via a garden hose. 
Dehumidifiers last only a couple years for me under fairly constant use, 
so you have replacement costs as well. I guess it depends on how much 
moisture's going into the air and how isolated the room is from the rest 
of the house.
