[Killietalk] Air exchange vs. dehumidifier

Howdy,

I meant to ask this back when the air exchange topic was hot, but here it 
goes anyways:

If the sole purpose of an air exchange system is to solve the humidity 
issue, why not consider the (seemingly) cheaper dehumidifier ? I used to 
have one in the basement when I lived in Montreal, and never had a problem 
besides the weekly bucket emptying chore.
