Pantanodon stuhlmanni have modified gill rakers that allow them to filter
micro-organisms and very small food particles from the water. In the
aquarium they will take powdered food and small live foods, e.g. artemia
nauplii, and microworms. They can just about manage grindal worms. They
cannot eat anything large. However, they are very partial to algae so may
well take green peas although these would have to be in the form of a
powder.
