Re: [Killietalk] azolla (was duckweed)

Hi,

I have bought azolla from a local shop. When I got it, it was contaminated
with duckweed, but the azolla per se was very healthy. I placed it in my
tank that grows enormous amounts of Ceratopteris cornuta (i.e. there are
enough nutrients to go around). Within a few days, much of the azolla
started to fungus. I had to remove it. Within 3 weeks, all the azolla was
lost; the duckweed on the other hand is still doing great.

My tank where I tried this is well covered and the air in there has high
humidity.I have not tried azolla in a low humidity environment.

take care,
